"The library of the Kingdom of Dragons is an illustrious archive of wisdom from ages past: a collection kept by Diana, scholar of the court. A fierce academic as well as a fighter, she accompanies the prince on his journey to document this historical first encounter between dragons and humans."
Heavenscale Diana dresses the champion as a court scholar and librarian for the heavenly Kingdom of Dragons, replacing her usual heavy moon-plate with layered silk-like robes in white and red, gold trim, and jade pendants, and giving her light violet hair and faintly glowing cyan horns; her crescent blade is intricately carved with dragon and cloud engravings.
In game, the skin swaps Diana's typical silvery-blue effects for a red-and-green palette with pale yellow undertones.
Q (Crescent Strike) throws two balls of light that draw the usual crescent. The mark it leaves on targets changes from the usual moon crescent to a yellow-green dragon head.
W (Pale Cascade) spawns a pale yellow shield with three green orbs. Sadly, I can't tell what the symbol in the orbs references. Each orb has a small red ribbon following it, and when they hit nearby targets, the orb goes through them.
E (Lunar Rush) starts with a red spiraling ribbon. Diana bursts with gold light and leaves an aftertrail. She turns to a darker palette when she finishes the dash and procs the damage instance.
R (Moonfall) visual effects make me wish the game was a bit slower! It starts with golden scales spawning around her, then a gold symbol lifts above. When it erupts with damage, we can see a golden dragon outline around the area of effect, and a dragon head spawns temporarily on the ground.
Sadly, the only meaningful new animation is the recall, which is standard for Epic tier skins, but it's an amazing recall! First, we see subtle Chinese cloud motifs, then a red hill and a drum appear below her. A small glistening green orb calls her to the skies—she lifts up, and we can see fireworks behind her with a silhouette of a gold dragon. She then disappears in a puff of smoke and arrives at the fountain.
Chromas available for this skin are:
There are no obvious pop-culture Easter eggs; the design mainly references East Asian court dress and classic dragon iconography, and its most unique touches are the fireworks recall, dragon-shaped VFX trails, jade ornaments, and the floating orb mechanic that change Diana’s in-game presence noticeably from the base skin.
Release date: July 2, 2024, issued via the Legacy Vault and sold for 1350 RP during that offering.
No notable changes since the release
Heavenscale is a Lunar New Year skinline that blends celestial dragon motifs with ceremonial regalia. Skins in this set dress champions as divine serpents or dragon-touched guardians. The look leans on flowing scale armor, inked cloud patterns, and warm festival colors with soft, shimmering VFX.
This universe is part of the broader Lunar New Year theme that also includes Dragon Lantern, Heavenscale, Lunar Beast, Lunar Revel, Lunar Revel: Firecracker, and Porcelain.
Lore-wise, Heavenscale champions act like celestial emissaries — proud, restrained, and tied to old dragon spirits that watch over festivals. Trivia: a Prestige or Divine variant appears in this line (for Ezreal and Lee Sin respectively), and some Heavenscale skins released during the same Lunar event in early February 2024.
Heavenscale Diana is a 1350 RP Epic skin released in February 2024. It can still be bought with RP when the vault opens, so by the rarity rules it’s considered Common. You can buy it usually during the Lunar Revel festival which mirrors IRL Lunar New Year in China, it's based on moon calendar so it's a moving holiday. If you want accounts that already include this skin, check curated options like Buy LoL Skin Accounts.
Yes. Because Heavenscale Diana is an epic retail skin, it can appear as a Hextech shard or be gifted via Mystery Gift. Note that Mythic and certain event-only skins aren’t available from Hextech crafting or Mystery Gifts.
Heavenscale Diana is a strong visual option if you like dragon-scale and ceremonial themes. I really adore the VFX work they've done for her—the model is also very high quality. The subtle dragon effects they managed to incorporate throughout the skin are amazing!
What really sells this skin:
Rating: 9/10 — I would rate it higher if it had anything special added like new voice lines or custom SFX, not just remixed sounds. Sadly, nothing like this can be found in this skin.
