Space Groove Lulu turns the fae sorceress into a pastel disco idol. She wears a white hood over cyan-blue hair, with pink-orange rabbit ears and a shiny purple-pink vinyl suit. Her staff is metallic with soft pastel nodes, and the whole kit leans into glossy, candy-coated textures that look brighter and more playful than base Lulu. In-game, abilities splash goopy oranges with pink and cyan-green highlights, so particles feel bubbly and elastic instead of sparkly and arcane.
Q (Glitterlance) shoots syrupy beams with groove rings; W (Whimsy) wraps the target in a bouncy, alien-disco motif; E (Help, Pix!) adds a neon-tinted shield and sticky projectile trail; and R (Wild Growth) pops with retro circular pulses and soft pastel flares. The custom recall plays into the 70s-funk space theme, and a voice filter gives her lines a retro sheen while keeping the original actor. This skin launched with the Space Groove event and carries playful nods to vinyl, synth waves, and dance-floor lights rather than direct real-life parodies.
Chromas: 9 variants — Aquamarine, Citrine, Disco, Obsidian, Peridot, Rose Quartz, Ruby, Tanzanite, Turquoise — each nudging the palette while keeping the glossy, pastel-funk style intact.
Release date: April 1, 2021 (Space Groove event window). Lulu’s base kit received a broader VFX cleanup in Patch 9.12; Space Groove Lulu ships with its own bespoke effects using Riot’s newer VFX style.
Space Groove is an alternate universe skins line in League of Legends. Set in a retro-futurist disco galaxy powered by a mysterious energy known as The Groove, the line features pastel sci-fi aesthetics, vinyl gloss, neon pastels, funky equalizer motifs, and cosmic dance floors. Champions are reimagined as galactic disco heroes fighting back against Lissandra and her army of Harsh Vibes, who seek to suppress rhythm and enslave the universe in Muzak. Lore paints a campy, colorful battle between good vibes and bad — with heroes like Lux, Samira, and Teemo defending The Groove, while Lissandra and Blitz & Crank bring the anti-disco doom. Trivia: the skinline is heavily inspired by 70s/80s disco futurism, mixing Saturday Night Fever with pulpy space operas.
While Space Groove belongs to it's own universe it's also part of the April Fools thematic, the entire thematic is old and goes back to 2010 and early days of league if you want to learn more about All April Fools and Urf skins read more here.
