Prestige Dark Star Malphite reimagines the Shard of the Monolith as a radiant starborn deity. Compared to base Malphite’s rough dark stone, this version gleams with ivory-and-gold crystalline plating, bronze trims, and a molten orange core that brightens his silhouette. It also flips the usual Dark Star palette: instead of deep void purples and blacks, the Prestige take pushes clean golds and soft purples for a regal, luminous feel.
Ability effects follow the cosmic theme with crisp readability: Q throws a small black hole with an event horizon that leaves purple-orange stardust, W layers bright golden plates with glittering sparks on-hit, E slams the ground in a super nova like blast wave, and R detonates in a radiant starburst rimmed by void. The SFX add airy, crystalline chimes and cosmic rumbles, and a custom recall slowly lifts him above until he slams into the fountain in your base.
As part of the Dark Star skinline, it keeps the cosmic horror notes but reframes Malphite as a transcendent star god rather than a devourer, which fits the Prestige tradition of a brighter, ceremonial palette. There are no new voice lines, but a cosmic filter reshapes his delivery to match the VFX.
Release date: March 26, 2020.
V10.3: Malphite received a champion-wide VFX update that this skin uses. V13.18: New ability icons for Malphite in the HUD. V4.5: Malphite’s splash art was updated (champion-wide), reflected in skin presentation in the client.
Event Horizon is a mixed-universe thematic that spans the vast cosmos. It covers celestial beings who create and protect the stars, and the Dark Star corruptants who consume them. Expect deep-space motifs, constellations, black-hole energy, and a blend of radiant blues, golds, and voidlike purples.
This universe officially bundles two sub-lines: Cosmic (celestial creators and the Cosmic Court) and Dark Star (corruptants and void-born destroyers). Its lore pits creation against entropy, with characters like Ashe, Lux, and Kassadin on the Cosmic side, and entities like Thresh, Jhin, and Mordekaiser serving the Dark Star.
Yes. It was an event-limited Prestige from 2020 and now only returns during Mythic Shop rotations, usually priced at 150 Mythic Essence; collectors who want it unlocked can browse accounts here: Buy LoL Skin Accounts.
You can’t buy or Mystery Gift Prestige skins directly. It can drop from some event capsules or Masterwork loot at very low odds, and it sometimes appears in the Mythic Shop for Mythic Essence; if you’d rather skip the grind, check verified accounts here: Buy LoL Accounts.
It’s great if you like bright cosmic effects with a gold-and-ivory finish. But many players also like the base Dark Star Malphite for its darker palette or Mecha Malphite for its crisp mech theme—compare them all here: All Malphite Skins.
Legacy skins are still obtainable thanks to our high end account store which features League of Legends accounts with the rarest skins at the best prices.
