Empyrean Malzahar reworks Malzahar’s look from a void prophet into a celestial preacher built around neon flames and, cosmic shapes.
Malzahar in this skin has a unique recall where he opens two portals and draws energy from both of them, symbolizing his role as a cosmic prophet.
In-game, his abilities trade the base's raw void-purple for a neon mix of purple, cyan, and yellow. His Q (Call of the Void) still spawns two portals, but now they resemble wormholes with visual hooks that appear to siphon matter. W (Void Swarm) spawns received a new voidling model with an Empyrean crystalline aesthetic. E (Malefic Visions) spawns a pulsing circle that spews purple particles. R (Nether Grasp) creates a literal void beneath the target with a similar suppression beam effect as the base skin.
The skin is part of the Empyrean skinline and includes nine chromas: Catseye, Emerald, Neon Facade, Pearl, Rose Quartz, Ruby, Sapphire, Tanzanite, and Turquoise.

Empyrean is a neon-tinged alternate-universe skinline built around the Foreglow, a volatile cosmic flame that transforms survivors into otherworldly Empyreans. The aesthetic pairs bright neon particles, crystalline accents, and level-based visual upgrades on some champions.
The universe includes the main Empyrean skins and collectible variants like Prestige Empyrean. Many Empyrean skins also ship with multiple chromas and occasional level 2 upgrades.
In lore, the Foreglow destabilized and collapsed realms, creating Empyreans — powerful, burning versions of champions. Pyke is the first Empyrean, while Malzahar styles himself the Voice of the Foreglow, preaching its fever across dimensions.
Trivia: Most Empyrean skins are 1350 RP (epic), with a few at 1820 RP (legendary). Several champions received level 2 appearance or extra lines as part of the set.
Empyrean Malzahar is a 1350 RP Epic skin that remains available in the shop, so it’s not rare; collectors who want accounts with this skin pre-unlocked can check curated skin accounts here: Buy LoL Skin Accounts.
Yes — because it’s a standard Epic skin (not mythic or legacy), Empyrean Malzahar can appear as a Hextech shard or be sent via Mystery Gifts. If you’d rather skip the grind, browse verified accounts here: Buy LoL Accounts.
Empyrean Malzahar is a decent pick for players who want bold neon VFX and a lore-forward theme. However, Malzahar is an older champion, and most of his VFX stay close to base to maintain visual clarity—this skin suffers from the same limitation, retaining his predominantly purple aesthetic. There are some nice touches, especially the Q (Call of the Void) and W (Void Swarm), which feel distinct yet familiar. The recall animation brings impressive thematic weight, but E and R are too similar to base for my liking. I'd give it a solid 6/10.
