Empyrean Nocturne turns Nocturne from a ragged shadow into an alien, crystalline predator. He wears a dark blue suit with a tall collar, cyan, green and pink crystal veins, and a smooth, visor‑like face.
In game, the skin shifts Nocturne's usual black and blue shadow theme to swirling purple, green, and neon VFX. Q (Duskbringer) throws a neon green-purple claw that scratches through the surface and leaves a purple trail behind. W (Shroud of Darkness) changes color to bright pink, so it might be a bit unreadable to enemies. E (Unspeakable Horror) seems like a reused asset from Empyrean Malzahar, just recolored. His Ultimate (Paranoia) indicator now spawns a neon icon below the target and bursts in neon colors when Nocturne arrives.
The voice lines are the same but run through a new, otherworldly filter. SFX are updated to fit the Empyrean motif, and the skin includes a custom blade-sharpening recall animation that spawns portals eventually dragging him away to the respawn fountain.
Chromas: Catseye, Emerald, Neon Facade, Pearl, Rose Quartz, Ruby, Sapphire, Tanzanite, Turquoise.
Release date: January 5, 2024.
No notable changes since release, reuses previous updates to Nocturne model and animations
Empyrean is a neon-tinged alternate-universe skinline built around the Foreglow, a volatile cosmic flame that transforms survivors into otherworldly Empyreans. The aesthetic pairs bright neon particles, crystalline accents, and level-based visual upgrades on some champions.
The universe includes the main Empyrean skins and collectible variants like Prestige Empyrean. Many Empyrean skins also ship with multiple chromas and occasional level 2 upgrades.
In lore, the Foreglow destabilized and collapsed realms, creating Empyreans — powerful, burning versions of champions. Pyke is the first Empyrean, while Malzahar styles himself the Voice of the Foreglow, preaching its fever across dimensions.
Trivia: Most Empyrean skins are 1350 RP (epic), with a few at 1820 RP (legendary). Several champions received level 2 appearance or extra lines as part of the set.
Empyrean Nocturne is an Epic skin priced at 1350 RP and it is available in the shop, so it’s not rare. If you want an account with this skin already unlocked you can browse curated options here: Buy LoL Skin Accounts.
Yes. Empyrean Nocturne is not mythic or legacy, so you can get it as a shard from Hextech/Masterwork chests, craft it with shards, or receive it via Mystery Gift, but loot is never guaranteed. If you prefer to skip the grind, check verified accounts here: Buy LoL Accounts.
Empyrean Nocturne is one of Nocturne's strongest visual options thanks to its neon-corrupted model and sharp VFX. Most Nocturne mains use the old-time classic Eternum Nocturne. For a newer experience, I would recommend Elderwood Nocturne! As for Empyrean, I rate it at a solid 8/10—it's one of his better skins and really fits the theme. Sadly, it's only an epic skin, and without any extra goodies such as custom voice lines, the audio uses just a filter yet again. If you want to compare every skin, see All LoL Skins.
Legacy skins are still obtainable thanks to our high end account store which features League of Legends accounts with the rarest skins at the best prices.
