Outback Renekton swaps golden Shuriman armor for weather-beaten explorer gear: a sun-worn bush hat, leather vest, crocodile-tooth necklace, torn trousers, and a rusted machete-like blade. The color palette leans into ochres and browns, so he looks like a rugged tracker instead of a desert warlord. Compared to base Renekton’s bright metal plates and polished weapon, this skin feels scrappier and more grounded, with rough leather, frayed hems, and pitted metal textures.
VFX from the V8.24 update give his R sandy aura. SFX were refreshed alongside these visuals, but there are no changes compared to base. They keep the heavy, feral feel of Renekton’s kit.
The skin uses base animations and recall, so it plays the same as default Renekton in timing and motion.
Outback Renekton fits the Wonders of the World alt-universe, which frames champions as globe-trotting explorers. The bush gear and tooth necklace nod to classic outback adventurer films (think crocodile wranglers and desert treks), giving Renekton a playful, pulp-expedition flavor without changing his silhouette.
Release date: January 18, 2011.
V1.0.0.141: New splash art. V4.16: Adjusted model and textures, new voiceover, and updated lore, plus a new splash. V8.24: New VFX/SFX pass to modernize ability visuals and sounds.
Wonders of the World is an alternate universe that reimagines champions as cultural icons from an Earth-like world. Each skin celebrates the traditions, attire, and history of real nations with a humorous League of Legends twist. This universe transforms champions into festival performers, mythic warriors, and national symbols, all wearing the most important accessory of all—a fun hat.
The skinline was written and developed by Jared Rosen. It features a diverse roster of champions including Ahri, Anivia, Gangplank, Gragas, Karthus, Lee Sin, Malphite, Pantheon, Renekton, Sejuani, Teemo, Tryndamere, and Xin Zhao. Each skin provides a playful cultural snapshot, from Thailand’s boxing rings to Russia’s bear brigades, mixing humor with homage to global folklore and heritage.
Lore: In the “Earth” universe, statues walk, warriors party, and even cosmic entities enjoy a good parade. It’s a mirror of Runeterra—only louder, flashier, and a lot more festive. Champions take part in parades, carnivals, and ancient battles retold through exaggerated local myths.
The Wonders of the World theme often overlaps with other globe-trotting skin aesthetics like Safari Caitlyn and Explorer Ezreal, but stands out for its cultural diversity and tongue-in-cheek storytelling.
Trivia:
Outback Renekton costs 520 RP and sits in the Legacy Vault, but because of it's low price and wide popularity it's still a common skin: it isn’t in the shop but you can commonly get it from loot because of it low price. Yes. Because it’s Legacy (not limited), it can drop from Hextech/Masterwork chests as a shard, from event orbs via rerolls, and through Mystery Gifts; loot is never guaranteed, though. If you’d rather skip the grind, browse verified accounts here: Buy LoL Accounts.
It's one of the cheapest skins with no new SFX, animations or VFX... It's probably one of the worst skins for Renekton you can find. For a premium one check PROJECT: Renekton brings sharp sci-fi visuals and clean red VFX. Compare every option here: All Renekton Skins.
