The most frustrating champion in League is FINALLY getting the nerf hammer she deserves π
Let's be real, Summoners. We've all been there. You're in champ select, you have one ban, and even though there are 168+ champions in the game... you KNOW what you have to do.
You ban Mel. π€
Donβt miss the 16.2 patch preview here.
Take a look at these stats and tell me this champion wasn't absolutely tilting the entire playerbase:
Read that again. This champion has a SUB-47% WIN RATE and is STILL the second most banned champion in the entire game. That's not a balance problem, that's a "I'd rather lose LP than play against this" problem. π
Her ban rate literally started at #1 when she dropped and has been hovering in must-ban territory ever since. Players would rather face literally anything else than deal with her W reflect mechanic completely negating their entire combo.
Riot finally said "okay we hear you" and dropped a MASSIVE changelist for patch 26.03:
This is HUGE. No more pressing W late and completely negating Fizz R, no more watching your entire burst disappear into the void. You can finally KILL HER through her W if you have enough damage.
Translation: You can actually SIDESTEP this ability now instead of just accepting your fate. πββοΈ
Riot threw in some compensation buffs so Mel mains don't completely int:
Riot literally admitted they "underestimated how frustrating the play-against experience for Mel would be" and honestly? Respect for acknowledging it.
The goal isn't to delete her from the game β it's to get her out of "Fu...erritory" so we can actually use our bans on other annoying champs (looking at you, Ambessa). π
Will Fizz mains finally stop permabanning her? Will her ban rate drop below 20%? Will she actually be... balanced?
Only time will tell when 26.03 hits live. But for now, we feast.
GG EZ Riot, took you long enough π
