The skin was reactivated in the 2017 season when it was made available as a reward for reaching Honor 5. From 2017β2021 Riot released rare chromas tied to Honor 5; starting in 2022 they introduced the Three Honors skin line as the new Honor-exclusive reward track.
Current system (2025): Upon reaching Honor level 5 you are automatically granted all Honor skins you donβt already own β no Honor Tokens or Token Shop required.
All Honor 5 skins:
Note: Unique Honor 5 chromas from past years (for Medieval Twitch and Grey Warwick) were tied to the now-retired Honor 5 Token Shop and are no longer obtainable since tokens were sunset after Patch 25.6.
Historical (legacy) info β Honor 5 Token Shop (2019β2024)
This shop is now retired, but for completeness these were the one-token redemptions:
In 2022 Riot announced the shift from annual chromas to the new Three Honors skin line; tokens at the time still worked for Twitch/Warwick and their older chromas only.
Season 9 note: In patch V9.16 only, opening an Honor 5 Capsule granted two Honor 5 tokens; players who reached Honor 5 before V9.16 received the two tokens in V9.17 while keeping the capsule skin.
In the first version of the referral system, it meant that 50 people had to create their League of Legends accounts using your link and then achieve level 5 on them. In version 2.0 Riot decided to reduce the number to 25. In Version 3.0 of the referral system, it required only 3 players to reach level 10 after using your link to register – that's all changed now though.
These days, it is delivered instantly to anyone who reaches honor level 5, which has understandably upset many players. Of course, newer players are over the moon, since they're able to get a rare skin by doing no work (or at least much less than was required back in the day).
The issue is that it's no longer a rare skin (at least not the rarest of Warwick Skins), despite the fact that it still isn't obtainable via the League of Legends store.
If Riot freely gives it away, then it loses any value it might have had – which is why we have to agree with the players who are angered by this, the ones who put in many hours trying to get it. The fact that Grey Warwick chromas for this skin are available in the regular store, does not help the whole riot (pun not intended).
As for the skin itself, it features Warwick as an elderly wolf. However, as the splash art lets us see, this is not just a regular elderly wolf. This one doesn't go into the forest to quietly wait for death. Just like an old god, he seems to be there to witness the very end of days. Until this happens he will still be there, in the spectral moonlight, and hunt.
Although the skin boasts no new animations or sound effects, its novelty definitely makes it desirable. Plus, the sword jutting out of Warwick's back makes him seem pretty badass – it's like he doesn't even notice it's there!
With all that said, Riot might not keep it around forever! With plenty of angry players complaining about how they had to work hard for it, it may soon disappear.
Make sure you regularly check out our LoL smurf store to view our vast range of skins!
Grey Warwick is currently available as a honor 5 reward, so it's not rare, but quite uncommon.
Legacy skins are still obtainable thanks to our high end account store which features League of Legends accounts with the rarest skins at the best prices.
