Papercraft Nunu & Willump turns the duo into storybook adventurers in a world made of folded paper. Nunu sports a playful paper crown and stitched jacket, while Willump becomes a golden origami beast with sharp creases, glued seams, and layered card textures. Compared to base, the shapes are more angular and matte, with edges that look cut by scissors and painted by hand.
Ability effects lean into papercraft and wind: Q bites with a crisp tear and bursts of orange scraps, W rolls a huge folded “snowball” that looks like paper sheets, E throws paper planes, and R bursts through the ground with orange sparks. His passive spawns little scissors above the target. Colors focus on warm oranges and golds balanced by minty greens, making casts easy to read and distinct from the base’s icy blues.
The SFX sell the theme with paper rustles, snaps, and cardboard thumps, and the custom recall builds origami before the pair hop out like kids finishing a craft. It fits the Papercraft skinline alongside other origami-themed champions, nodding to handmade art and storybook imagination rather than any direct real-life brand or show. Chromas: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Catseye, Obsidian, Pearl, Rose Quartz, Ruby.
Release date: February 21, 2019.
Background: Nunu & Willump received a full relaunch in Patch 8.17 with new model, animations, abilities, VFX/SFX, voiceover, and lore; Papercraft Nunu & Willump arrived after that update and has not needed major reworks beyond routine VFX clarity passes.
Folded Edges is an alternate-universe thematic where champions are imagined in a world made of folded paper. Models show visible creases and layered panels, with soft, breezy VFX that mimic origami and paper craft.
This universe centers the Papercraft theme and draws from Japanese origami. It shares visual and narrative vibes with the broader storybook-like Storycraft style.
Lore snapshot: cranes glide across a sky of paper sun and clouds, and even trees and grass are parchment pressed into shape. As the in-world saying goes, “What began as delicate, through many folds, became unbreakable.”
Trivia: The theme is inspired by Japanese Origami. Current releases include Papercraft Nunu & Willump and Papercraft Anivia, both with multiple chromas; Nunu & Willump: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Catseye, Obsidian, Pearl, Rose Quartz, Ruby. Anivia: Catseye, Emerald, Obsidian, Pearl, Rainbow, Rose Quartz, Ruby, Tanzanite.
Papercraft Nunu & Willump is a 1350 RP Epic skin that’s still in the shop, so it’s Common, not rare. If you want it pre-unlocked, you can pick from curated accounts here: Buy LoL Skin Accounts.
Yes. Because it isn’t limited or mythic, it can drop as a shard from Hextech/Masterwork chests, event orbs, and via Mystery Gifts (loot is never guaranteed). If you’d rather start with it, you can buy a League of Legends account that already owns the skin.
It’s great if you like bright colors and origami-style VFX. I really like VFX of non-ultimate abilities, but his R is kind of basic and feels like a lost opportunity. It's still a solid pickup but if you prefer a different vibe, Space Groove Nunu & Willump brings disco flair and music effects, and Demolisher Nunu & Willump offers a heavy armored look. Compare every option here: All Nunu & Willump Skins.
Legacy skins are still obtainable thanks to our high end account store which features League of Legends accounts with the rarest skins at the best prices.
