Steel Legion Garen turns Demacia’s proud vanguard into a magitek enforcer. The armor is heavy and angular with exposed bolts and piston-like joints, colored in gunmetal and brass with glowing cyan energy lines. His sword becomes a dual-pronged, mechanized blade that looks powered and industrial rather than a simple steel broadsword.
In-game, the skin feels colder and more machine-like than base Garen. Abilities use electric-cyan VFX, metallic sparks, and humming SFX, so every spin and slam looks powered by an internal engine. Compared to the base skin’s clean blue and gold light, Steel Legion’s effects are brighter, sharper, and more industrial.
The theme nods to dieselpunk and steampunk—steel plating, rivets, power conduits—without being tied to a specific seasonal event. It includes a full set of custom animations (homeguard, emotes, ability casts) and a custom recall that sells the magitech fantasy.
Release date: January 2, 2013. It received a V3.12 visual update with a new splash art, new model, new textures, and a refreshed voiceover to better match the Steel Legion theme.
Steel Legion skins share a militarized magitek identity: rigid plates, brass hardware, and cyan energy accents. The line blends industrial design with high-tech visuals for a uniform, empire-like look.
Steel Legion Garen is not rare. It’s a 1350 RP Epic skin that stays in the shop and appears in loot, so it’s classified as Common. If you prefer buying accounts that already own it, check the marketplace here: Buy LoL Skin Accounts.
Yes. Because it’s not legacy, it can drop from Hextech chests, orbs, and Mystery Gifts, or you can unlock it with skin shards and rerolls. You can also pick up accounts that already have it on LoL Accounts.
It’s one of the strongest 1350 RP options thanks to full VFX/SFX and animation work. If you want a more premium feel, God-King Garen (Legendary) offers a darker fantasy with unique VO, and Mecha Kingdoms Garen (Legendary) gives a flashy, high-tech commander look. To compare them all in one place, see All Garen Skins.
Legacy skins are still obtainable thanks to our high end account store which features League of Legends accounts with the rarest skins at the best prices.
