"All hail the Prince of Dragons, heir to the throne of the heavenly Kingdom of Dragons! A noble and just prince, Lee Sin is deeply devoted to his people. When he hears the telltale crackle of fireworks just below the clouds, he knows it's time to learn more about his human subjects—and how they greet the New Year with a bang! "
Heavenscale Lee Sin remakes the blind monk into a celestial dragon prince. Visually he swaps the bare, ascetic monk look for a light red-and-white martial tunic with gilded trim, a string of cyan orbs at his throat, and small cyan horn-like crests from his hair; the design leans on polished cloth and scale-like patterns.
In game, abilities get clearly different VFX and sounds:
Passive (Flurry) now sparks his hands with bright yellow color, which makes it easier to farm in the jungle and fight (once you get used to it)!
Q (Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike) looks like a fireball with cyan and red energy and pale-yellow sparks. When it hits, a blue dragon spawns above the enemy's head. Upon reactivation, Lee Sin dives head first with his arms outstretched, looking kinda funny like he's diving in for an embrace.
W (Safeguard / Iron Will): If you use it on yourself, you just get the shield and Lee Sin prepares a battle stance. A really cool effect is when you reactivate it because it gives a visible lifesteal aura that usually isn't there (or at least not nearly so visibly)—it spawns jade and red ribbons around him and then gives him an aura around his character model near the ground with a jade dragon pattern.
E (Tempest / Cripple): Lee Sin slaps the ground, spawning a flurry of jade and red ribbons with a yellow aftershock aura spreading around and a gold dragon shape in the middle.
R (Dragon's Rage) really feels like a dragon kick—his leg leaves aftertrails of a dragon's body, and his foot temporarily gets bigger with a blast VFX when it hits.
Animations are refreshed across attacks and abilities, and there are new emotes and homeguard animations. The recall shows Lee Sin resting on a cloud, then being launched downward by fireworks, matching the Divine Heavenscale recall animation.
The skin includes roughly 13 minutes of new voicelines performed by Feodor Chin that reinforce the character as a prince of dragons and an emissary between mortals and dragons. It is part of the Heavenscale skinline and ships with six chromas: Aquamarine, Citrine, Emerald, Lustrous, Rose Quartz, and Ruby. The theme draws on dragon myths and royal imagery rather than direct real-world references, and its changes make Lee Sin feel more regal and elemental compared to the stoic, plain-mantled base version.
Some of my favorite lines on this skin are:
"Lee Sin clears his throat and attempts to shout, as if to let out a roar. 'Hmph. It seems this human form cannot roar. Pity.'"
or
"Dancing, battle—I've studied both. Surprisingly similar."
Release date: July 2, 2024.

Interestingly enough this and only this skin was not retired to legacy vault. It's still available in the shop, perhaps because it's the only legendary from this line?
Heavenscale is a Lunar New Year skinline that blends celestial dragon motifs with ceremonial regalia. Skins in this set dress champions as divine serpents or dragon-touched guardians. The look leans on flowing scale armor, inked cloud patterns, and warm festival colors with soft, shimmering VFX.
This universe is part of the broader Lunar New Year theme that also includes Dragon Lantern, Heavenscale, Lunar Beast, Lunar Revel, Lunar Revel: Firecracker, and Porcelain.
Lore-wise, Heavenscale champions act like celestial emissaries — proud, restrained, and tied to old dragon spirits that watch over festivals. Trivia: a Prestige or Divine variant appears in this line (for Ezreal and Lee Sin respectively), and some Heavenscale skins released during the same Lunar event in early February 2024.
Heavenscale Lee Sin is a Legendary-tier skin priced at 1820 RP. Since it was released in February 2024 and was sold in the store, it’s considered a normal purchasable skin (not ultra-rare). If you want an account that already owns the skin, check verified options here: Buy LoL Skin Accounts.
Yes! Legendary skins are available through Hextech crafting or Mystery Gifts per the crafting rules. However keep in mind that their drop rate is lower than Epic skins, read more about Hextech Loot Drop Rates here. Heavenscale Lee Sin is a strong pick if you like dragon-guardian visuals. It's a Legendary skin, so it comes packed with all the usual bells and whistles, including a full set of new animations and voicelines.
What really sells this skin:
Rating: 10/10 — Taking all of this into account, it's a perfect skin, and the fact it also has a more premium version is just the icing on the cake.
