Star Guardian Sona reimagines the Maven of the Strings as a calm, bookish magical girl who channels starlight through her etwahl. The model swaps her classical gown for a white-and-teal dress with winged accents, a gold-trimmed star-emblem etwahl, long turquoise twin-tails, and round glasses that add a gentle mentor vibe.
In-game, her abilities glow with teal, white, and gold hues, trading base Sona’s soft musical notes for sharp four-pointed star motifs and glittering ribbons. Q fires radiant starbursts, W wraps allies in a luminous star-crest shield, E leaves a sparkling comet-like trail, and R sends a sweeping stave of constellation light; SFX are bright and chime-heavy to sell the cosmic theme.
The skin launched with Star Guardian Season 4 in 2022 and sticks to the anime magical girl references you expect from the line. It has a custom recall where Sona gathers starlight around her instrument and returns in a flourish; otherwise, it keeps Sona’s smooth gameplay feel with polished cast and idle touches.
Chromas: 9 — Amethyst, Aquamarine, Brilliant, Catseye, Obsidian, Pearl, Rose Quartz, Ruby, and Tanzanite. These recolors adjust hair shade, dress accents, and etwahl glow while keeping the same star motifs.
Release date: July 14, 2022 (Star Guardian 2022). Patch v12.2 included an updated VFX pass for Sona skins, and the skin benefits from Sona’s updated voiceover delivered in v10.18.
