HEARTSTEEL Yone recasts the champion as a neon-stage performer for the fictional band HEARTSTEEL, swapping his traditional samurai look for glossy stage fabrics, bright trims, and comic-book visual effects. The two swords are color-contrasted so each swing reads as a split-color flourish versus base Yone's more spiritual, muted palette.
In game, abilities use bright neon trails and halftone/comic bursts with electronic SFX: Q1/2 forms a blue-yellow neon wedge, his Q3 throws hearts when it hits, W has similar effects of Xs and hearts. My favorite change is E which spawns a heart above any targets you hit and when you are at the execution threshold it plays heartsteel theme and cuts through the heart shape. R show bold, pop-art impact effects.
The skin includes a recall animation with a "jam" pose where Yone grooves before slashing floating cubes, and it shares animations with the Prestige HEARTSTEEL Yone, so motion and timing feel similar but in different palette.
HEARTSTEEL leans on concert culture and comic-book art as its references rather than any real-world person, using neon lighting, halftone dots and bold color blocking to sell the band/album aesthetic without direct real-life ties.

HEARTSTEEL is a music-themed skinline released under Riot Records. It casts champions as members of a new band. The set leans into stage lights, instruments, and pop/rock styling. The skins mix performance outfits with music-themed VFX and sound cues.
This universe is one of several Riot Records projects that include other band and music thematics like DJ, K/DA, Pentakill, Popstar, and True Damage. HEARTSTEEL sits alongside those as a band-focused lineup with members who are both performers and characters with stage personalities.
Lore (short): HEARTSTEEL is a scrappy, talented band made of diverse personalities. They want a comeback and they work as a unit to make loud, memorable music. The line shows champions in modern stage-ready looks and brings music energy into their abilities and animations. Trivia: the line launched on November 8, 2023 and includes both regular Epic-tier skins and at least one Prestige edition for Yone that was tied to event tokens.
HEARTSTEEL Yone has two versions. The regular HEARTSTEEL Yone is an Epic skin priced at 1350 RP and is part of the normal shop rotation, so it’s not rare. The Prestige version is event-tied (listed as a 2000 Event Tokens Prestige Edition) and is much harder to get — that Prestige release is considered mythic/limited and counts as semi-rare. The regular HEARTSTEEL Yone (Epic, 1350 RP) can appear as a shard from Hextech crafting and may be given via Mystery Gifts because it is not mythic. The Prestige edition, being an event/mythic-style reward, cannot be obtained via Mystery Gifts and has very low drop ratio from Hextech.
